  • ◆ Three continents, three owners

Built in 1935 for Cecil Brownlow, 6th Marquess of Exeter, Olympic 400-metre hurdles gold medallist and the inspiration for Chariots of Fire. The car then crossed three continents under a string of distinguished owners before joining Always Classic Cars in March 2000.

Lord Burghley is the second-oldest car in our fleet, and carries with it a history that reads like a chapter of 20th century aristocratic Europe. The Sedanca DeVille body style, with a chauffeur’s compartment open to the elements and an enclosed passenger cabin behind, was the height of pre-war formal motoring.
